The final accounting is done we can share some incredible news!
Through your generosity, BUSTERFEST raised $18,266!
After expenses, everything goes to Clyde and his family.
Today, we can proudly say that BUSTERFEST will be able to fully cover all of the expenses for our friend Clyde Hill’s final arrangements.
THANK YOU once again for everyone who came to BUSTERFEST: JAR. And the other great bands, the Rickshaw and staff, our sponsors and anyone who helped with the show or generously showed support via donations and messages for Clyde. Every single thing made a difference!
With utmost gratitude (and maybe a few tears):

Legendary Vancouver Heavy Rock act JAR. (aka FLYBANGER) reunited for a one-off benefit concert BUSTERFEST, a special tribute to the band’s former manager Clyde Hill, who is battling pancreatic cancer.
BUSTERFEST took place on Saturday, July 27 2024 at The Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, BC. The event will feature performances by JAR. with support from OC/DC, Members Of NOISE THERAPY, DIRTBAG REPLUBLIC and SPEAK OF THE DEVIL.
All proceeds from the show have gone to Clyde to help with expenses in this time of need.

Clyde Hill began his musical journey playing bass in the fledgling Chicago Funk band RAMA, touring Japan in the early 1980s before immigrating to Canada. He formed AMAR Management in the 1990s during which he helped launch the careers of the city’s most successful acts from that era, including NICKELBACK (Roadrunner Records), NOISE THERAPY (A&M Records) and JAR. (Columbia Records, as FLYBANGER).
Clyde Hill remains an important fixture on Vancouver’s live music circuit: his long-standing promotion MAGNETIZED PRODUCTIONS continues to book up-and-coming talent in a city with an evaporating live rock scene; MAGNETIZED MANAGEMENT actively manages a collective of local talent, in which includes BCCMA award-winning act ME AND MAE.

BANDS

JAR.
Exclusive Performance!JAR. released their debut EP “Harsh and Discord” independently in 1996, receiving national distribution with the help of Clyde Hill and AMAR Management. Their 1998 independent full-length album “Knott Skull” charted nationally thanks in part to the bands’ relentless cross-country touring.
In 1999, both JAR. and NICKELBACK were included on CFOX’ prestigious SEEDS promotion which brought the attention of major labels. JAR. signed with Columbia / Sony, and changed their name to FLYBANGER, releasing one full length album, “Headtrip To Nowhere”. FLYBANGER toured internationally alongside the likes of CLUTCH, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY, SEPULTURA, and SOULFLY; before succumbing to various record industry pitfalls. The members have continued to work with Clyde in various capacities.

NOISE THERAPY
NOISE THERAPY was formed in 1993 by bassist Rob Thiessen and guitarist Kai Markus. In 1995 the band released their first album independently, and signed on with Clyde Hill at AMAR Management, who concurrently handled JAR. and NICKELBACK.
Vocalist Dave Ottoson joined in 1996, and soon the band signed a record deal with A&M Records; releasing “The Cyclops E.P.” and the full-length album "Myton Lowrider".
In 1999, NOISE THERAPY was handpicked to support MÖTLEY CRÜE, after which Kai was approached by Tommy Lee to join the drummer’s METHODS OF MAYHEM project; causing NOISE THERAPY band to go on hiatus.
NOISE THERAPY regrouped in 2002 to record their final album “Tension” for Redline Entertainment, the ensuing tour saw the band supporting the likes of SEETHER, OTEP and ILL NINO.

SPEAK OF THE DEVIL
SPEAK OF THE DEVIL, a shortened name taken from an old saying "speak of the devil and he shall appear"… but when this band name was said aloud, a fiery set of music erupts as a must see from the hard-hitting rock threesome.
Vocalist Chad Bechard, guitarist Jinx Stringer and drummer Joe Party have cultivated their signature sound by creating a full sonic wall of tones from just drums and one guitar. Influenced by old school metal, punk and modern rock, with their high energy vocal performances influenced by rap and hip-hop.
While their musical influences range from MOTÖRHEAD to PUBLIC ENEMY, SPEAK OF THE DEVIL still look to create infectious musical hooks along with deadly guitar riffs that leave listener chanting "Speak of the Devil" for more of the same.
